TESTIMONIALS
MARIBEL NAVARRO, former student, Burbank
Mrs. Reese was an amazing role model. She was and is a very smart and talented person and I wanted to be just like her. Mrs. Reese came into my life when I became pregnant as a teenager and my school district assigned me to homeschooling. My primary language is Spanish, therefore school was a bit challenging By including me as a lead in a play that was performed at the Los Angeles Music Center, I learned to fight some of my fears and enjoy my youth. I learned many things from her that have helped me in life. It was truly an honor to have been one of her students.

Mary Reese has worked with my son, as an Educational Therapist for the past several years. My son has been diagnosed with Asperger’s syndrome and was having difficulty graduating from high school. With Mary’s help, continued patience and unending support, he finally graduated last year. During his high school experience, Mary was invaluable in contributing her insight and effort as his Advocate during his IEP meetings. Mary also worked 1-1 with him, making sure he stayed focused and on task with his daily homework and necessary school work. Mary was invaluable in helping our attorney, along with me and my son in our mediation with the district and was no doubt instrumental in the settlement that resulted. Mary is kind, professional and personable. She is highly driven to work for her clients and make sure that they are appropriately served.
CAROL R., parent, Burbank
Mrs. Reese has been my son Anthony's home teacher since shortly after Christmas vacation. She is the first person who has shown a special interest in the welfare of my son. I cannot commend her highly enough. She is a very caring person who has her student's best interest at heart. She has been more like a friend to us. If only we had more Mrs. Reeses, then we would have fewer problem children in the system.
PAT GRAYSON-DEJONG, M.ED., RETIRED AUTISM EDUCATION CONSULTANT, Granada Hills
Mary is a passionate advocate for the students she serves, making sure that they receive everything they need to succeed. I have had the opportunity to consult with her on several occasions about students on the autism spectrum and am always impressed with her insights, knowledge and creative solutions to complex problems.
DIANE D. JIMENEZ, M.S., CCC/SLP, SPEECH LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST, Pasadena
I was able to observe Ms. Reese in many educational environments such as, in the classroom, individualized education plan meetings, in service trainings, and consultative services to other teachers. Her expertise and leadership that she has shared have been invaluable. Mr. Reese understands the meaning of "team" and is more than willing to collaborate with other special education members. Ms. Reese has successfully demonstrated leadership ability by counseling new and prospective students. Her advice has been a great help to these students, many of whom have taken time to share their comments with me regarding her pleasant and encouraging attitude.

BRAD P., PRINCIPAL, MAGNOLIA SCIENCE ACADEMY-5, Reseda
I had the opportunity to work with Ms. Reese for two years while she held the position of Resource Specialist. Within that time frame, Ms. Reese oversaw our Special Education department and made sure that we were in compliance with all our students needs. She also collaborated with her colleagues on making sure students were receiving the appropriate accommodations. Ms. Reese also did a great job working with our students after school in the performing
arts field. Her group was able to perform multiple times in front of students, parents and staff receiving great reviews.
Ms. Reese’s motivation to serve students was a great asset to the Magnolia family!
ANNI SITZER, RETIRED LICENSED EDUCATION PSYCHOLOGIST, San Diego
It is with pleasure that I comment on the qualifications of Educational Therapist/Consultant Mary Reese. I worked with Ms. Reese in my role as a Licensed Educational Psychologist for 12 years. I experienced Ms. Reese as completely knowledgeable of Special Education Law and able to utilize examination results and careful observation to design effective treatment. Her students showed considerable progress and subsequently, this often resulted in mainstreaming. Her interpersonal skills in dealing with challenging students and situations resulted in positive outcomes.

It is important for my challenged son to receive assistance from dedicated advocators and educators. My son is both visually impaired and autistic, and he also has a learning challenge. During his elementary school years, he was labeled as a non-academic student and placed in a special education setting. He was intergraded into the general education system during the start of his middle school. Fortunately, he met Ms. Mary Reese and worked on English for three years from 9th grade to graduation of high school. She provided two to three hours per week at home during the school years. While working, she made the sessions funny, and I often heard my son laughing and being excited. He also learned academic content while enjoying these moments. Due to her dedicated help and passion, my son is now a Sophomore at UCLA. She is a great person, therapist, and advocator for individuals with disabilities. For those who have challenged children, I strongly recommend working with Ms. Mary Reese if you have a chance.
LORENZO, student, Sylmar
Hey, Ms. Reese I wanted to tell you thank you for everything you have done for me. For letting me participate on Tuesday to sing to the teachers. I had fun being a teacher for the day. It wasn't easy as I had in my mind. What I have learned from all this is work as a team and not be stage fright. I really do appreciate everything. You are a great director and teacher and can't forget that. Thank you once again Ms. Reese.
